Vij was speaking during the budget session of the Haryana vidhan sabha on Thursday.
He said approval for AIIMS had been granted during the Union budget and once set up, it would provide people of the state and those in the neighbouring areas with excellent healthcare services. Vij added that the National Cancer Institute (NCI) at Badhsa in Jhajjar is the country’s first biggest hospital that would work as extension institution of the AIIMS.
The health minister said NCI had been constructed on 300 acres at the cost of about Rs 2,035 crore. “This will provide good treatment and also reduce patient load on New Delhi AIIMS. The bhumi poojan (ground breaking ceremony) of NCI was carried out on December 12, 2015, and the institute has been dedicated to the public on February 12, 2019.”
