The passing-out parade of 58 Hull Artificer (HA) Apprentices of the A-40 batch, comprising 47 Indian Navy HA sailors, seven Coast Guard Yantriks and four foreign trainees, was conducted at INS Vishwakarma on completion of two-and-a-half-year professional course.
The march past was followed by crossing of dais in ‘dheere chaal’ by the apprentice sailors as per the finest traditions of the Indian Navy which was reviewed by Commodore Sanjiv Kapoor, the Commanding Officer of INS Vishwakarma.
Gold medal
A valedictory function followed by dinner was also organised for the trainees, Ships Company and families. Hitesh, HA/APP was adjudged ‘overall first’ trainee and awarded the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief (South) Gold medal. All passing out sailors would shortly assume their appointments at frontline warships.
