On the eve of Delhi Assembly’s budget session, Leader of the Opposition Vijender Gupta said that the BJP will take the AAP government to task on its “support” to the JNU students by delaying the sanction for prosecution.
He said that that the party will also expose the fake claims of deletion of 30 lakh names from the voters list and highlight the way the government has been depriving Delhiites of the benefits of Ayushman Bharat scheme and other initiatives.
“We will expose Kejriwal government’s utter misgovernance, failures, unconstitutional acts, and betrayal of trust of Delhi citizens in the House,” the Leader of the Opposition said.
‘Will raise our voice’
He added that the AAP government would do its best to suppress the voice of the Opposition and forcibly marshal out BJP MLAs, but they would continue to raise their voice against misdeeds and mismanagement of the AAP government.
The leader added that the BJP would strongly oppose Delhi government’s efforts to “dramatise” the issue of statehood.
“The Supreme Court has commented that statehood is not viable for Delhi. In place of honouring the court, the AAP is unnecessarily raking up the issue. If need arises, we shall bring adjournment motion on this issue and other such issues under Rule 59 of the Delhi Assembly Rules,” he said.
The BJP said that several of the promises that the Kejriwal government had made before coming to power were yet to be delivered.
Pending projects
“It is yet to build 500 new schools, add 30,000 additional beds, open 900 primary health centres, 20 new degree colleges, build 2 lakh public toilets, install sewage treatment plants to stop 100% flow of sewage into Yamuna, provide free Wi-Fi, procure 10,000 DTC buses and several others,” he said.
