Following the brutal murder case of Mira Road resident Ganesh Koladkar (58) whose body was chopped into small pieces by his friend Pinto Sharma (42), the officers of the Forensic Sciences Laboratory (FSL) have confirmed that before Koldakar was killed, he was neither laced with any sedative nor was he drugged, in order to execute the murder.
The FSL submitted the report to Arnala police station after thoroughly examining the body tissues, DNA and viscera. Series of tests of the recovered parts of Koladkars body were conducted after the samples were obtained from different spots. The murder incident which was reported on January 23 came into light after residents of Bachraj Paradise informed the police about remains of human flesh being accumulated in the drainage chamber.
The body parts were later found in the building complex's septic tank and at the railway tracks.
Sharma confessed to the cops that he picked up the fight with Koladkar because the latter refused to repay the loan of Rs 1 lakh, so he banged his head against the wall after which Koladkar died due to internal injury. In order to escape police arrest, Sharma took hexa blades and chopped the body and the he flushed down some pieces in the toilet. "After the samples were brought at Kalina laboratory for examination, we ascertained that there were no signs of the victim being drugged or given any sort of sedative. This is just the preliminary observations, so we have sent a report to the police accordingly. Also the skeletal remains of the body has not been recovered yet," said an officer from the FSL.
In a bid to establish the identity of Koladkar, the FSL have asked the police to get the DNA samples of any of his relative. "It is almost a month since the crime was committed but no one has come forward to claim the body. Once a sample of a relative, even a distant one matches with the ones we have stored, police can take appropriate action in the matter," the officer added.
