When contacted, DSP BS Sekhon refused to divulge the report findings, but claimed that in the next few days things will be cleared.
Even MC commissioner had conducted an inquiry after which a few officers were issued the chargesheet. The assistant town planner (headquarter) S S Bindra said “An inquiry was conducted by MC commissioner recently and on the basis of violations, action was also taken against erring officials.”
Notably, a city-based RTI activist had highlighted the construction of flats with many violations. It was on the basis of his complaint that an inquiry was marked to the DSP MCand also orders were issued by the local bodies department in July 2018 that till the time inquiry is being conducted and decision is taken nothing should happen at the site. MC officials also deployed a few cops for two days at the site, but eventually the construction work went on.
