Map: Foreign Aid Is Being Stockpiled on Venezuela’s Border

(Bloomberg) -- Opposition leaders are trying to move tons of donated food and medicine stockpiled in Colombia, Brazil and on the island of Curacao into Venezuela as President Nicolas Maduro has vowed to block the attempt, aiming to lock down borders on the grounds that it’s a political ploy to justify a U.S. intervention. Attempts to mobilize the humanitarian relief have already turned violent on the Brazilian border, while security officials have hindered the movements of opposition lawmakers and National Assembly leader Juan Guaido, who is trying to rally the world as he attempts to break Maduro’s authoritarian rule.
