NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi received the prestigious Seoul Peace Prize for 2018 on Friday for his contribution to international cooperation and fostering global economic growth.

After the award ceremony, South Korean President Moon Jae-in hosted a state luncheon in honour of PM Modi. But what caught the eye of the guests was the performance of kids who sang the favourite bhajan of Mahatma Gandhi 'Vaishnav Jan To Tene Kahiye'.

The video was shared by Raveesh Kumar, spokesperson of ministry of external affairs, on Twitter.

Kumar while sharing the video asked whether anyone has ever "seen a more endearing rendition of Vaishnav Jan To bhajan?".

Dressed in traditional Indian attire, the kids sang along the mesmerising melody of the flute during the state luncheon.

PM Modi is the 14th recipient of the award sponsored by the Seoul Peace Prize Foundation. A short film on the life and achievements of Prime Minister Modi was also screened at the event.

Modi expressed his gratitude for the prestigious honour and said, "This award belongs not to me personally, but to the people of India."

He dedicated the $200,000 prize money to 'Namami Gange Programme', which is flagship programme of his government to accomplish the twin objectives of effective abatement of pollution, conservation and rejuvenation of River Ganga.

The Seoul Peace Prize was established in 1990 to commemorate the success of the 24th Olympic Games held in Seoul. The award was established to crystalise Korean people's yearning for peace on the Korean peninsula and in the rest of the world.
