Says CM is not ready for debate on govt.’s performance

The people of Kerala have endured a lot during the Left Democratic Front (LDF) government’s 1,000 days in office, Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president Mullappally Ramachandran has said.

He was addressing a reception accorded by Congress workers to the Jana Mahayatra led by Mr. Ramachandran, at Poochakkal and Cherthala here, on Friday.

“The LDF government is making tall claims. But Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is not ready for an open debate on the government’s performance. The LDF government has completed 1,000 dark days, giving people only hardship,” Mr. Ramachandran said.

Mr. Ramachandran said Pinarayi Vijayan had become the weakest Chief Minister in the history of the State. “The people of the State will give the LDF government a befitting reply in Parliament elections.

The United Democratic Front (UDF) is working towards winning all 20 seats in the Lok Sabha poll. Both Pinarayi Vijayan and Kodiyeri Balakrishnan are helping the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Narendra Modi. Both are engaged in scuttling the move to create an alternative to Mr. Modi at the national level,” he said.

At a reception accorded to the yatra at Poochakkal, All India Congress Committee general secretary K.C. Venugopal asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to explain the security lapses that led to the Pulwama attack.
