The 7th Dharwad taluk-level Kannnada Sahitya Sammelana will be held at KE Board First grade College grounds located on Saundatti Road here on Saturday.
According to Kannada Sahitya Partishat district president Lingaraj Angadi, former principal of Karnatak College and writer Rajeshwari Maheshwaraiah will chair the conference.
Procession
The procession of the sammelana president will begin from 9 a.m. and will go through the main streets of the city before reaching the sammelana venue. Earlier to this, poet V.C. Airsang will hoist the flag at 8.30 a.m. The procession under the slogan ‘walk for Kananda’ would be launched by KE Board working president Arun Nadiger.
Hampi Kannada University Vice-Chancellor Mallika Ghanti will inaugurate the literary conference at 10.30 a.m.
Three sessions on Kannada literature and poetry would be held after the inaugural session.
The valedictory will be held at 5 p.m. and writer Leeladevi Prasad will deliver the valedictory address. From 6 p.m., cultural programmes by children and organisations would be held. Ten events have been planned, Mr. Angadi said.
