21 from the city become CMAs

Vadodara: Twenty one students from the city have qualified to become cost management accountants (CMAs) while 39 others have cleared their intermediate examinations as the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI) declared results of its foundation, intermediate and final stages of examinations which were held in December last year.
Last year, 11 students from the city had become CMAs. “This year, a total of 161 students have cleared their foundation, intermediate and final stages of the examinations. This is the highest number of students clearing the examinations in the last four years,” said Mihir Vyas, vice chairman of the Baroda chapter of ICAI, which facilitated the successful students on Friday.
Last year, a total of 111 students had cleared the three stages of the examinations. In the foundation level, a total of 46 students had appeared for the examination of which 39 cleared their examination giving 84.78 pass percent.
The highest number of students appeared for the intermediate level – 304 of which 91 students have cleared their exams giving 29.93 pass percent. Of the 161 students who had appeared for the final stage, 31 have cleared giving 19.25 pass percent.
Of the 21 students who have qualified to become CMAs, the girls-boys ratio is almost equal as ten girls and 11 boys have become CMAs.
Rajiv Naidu, who has already completed his bachelors of commerce and MBA studies has bagged All India Rank 49 in CMA final. Naidu is waiting for better job prospects. “This time the results were announced based on the exams which were taken for students appearing for the syllabus of 2016,” he said.
