Temperatures rise to 37.50C, highest this yr

Pune: Residents of Pune experienced a hot Wednesday and took refuge indoors or in the shade as the mercury touched 37.5 degrees Celsius. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Pune is experiencing the hottest February since 2009. 

This year, Pune also reported a record low temperature as well at the start of February. The highest day temperature reported was 38.9 degrees Celsius in February 1953.

According to IMD, the day temperature in Pune was 5.2 degrees above normal. A high temperature was recorded across the State with the highest temperature reported in Beed at 39 degrees Celsius on Wednesday.
