Suspended deputy NPA boss Nomgcobo Jiba has taken the stand and told the Mokgoro inquiry she was "amazed and hurt" when the NPA turned the tables and charged her for doing her work.

ICYMI: Roelofse was appointed to investigate Mdluli in 2011. Roelofse testified before the inquiry that, during his investigations, he was informed that Mdluli's family members had flights paid for by the Secret Service account. 

Following a search of the premises of a travel agent, Roelofse said he had managed to get a number of documents, but testified that the travel agent had been tipped off by a member of Crime Intelligence that he would be searched by officials.

Jiba has denied flying to Durban with Mdluli in 2010, with the tickets paid for by the crime intelligence slush fund, the Secret Service account. She says if she wanted to go to Durban she would have paid for herself or drove there.

The main motivation in this document is that this group of officials should get a performance reward for the killing of the people, it doesn't say it is for successfully conducting an investigation which that led to arrest...That's all I wanted to point out, Jiba says.

Mrwebi took the stand for the first time on Wednesday to respond to his detractors and accusers.
