Battlefield UP: Akhilesh-Mayawati announce seat division for Lok Sabha elections 2019, SP to contest from Varanasi Read In Hindi

The Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party and Mayawati-led Bahujan Samajwadi Party have arrived at seat division in Uttar Pradesh for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2019.

SP, BSP announce seat sharing in Uttar Pradesh, check complete list: The Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party and Mayawati-led Bahujan Samaj Party have arrived at seat division in Uttar Pradesh for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2019. Samajwadi Party will fight on 37 seats while BSP has got 38 seats out of 80 parliamentary constituencies that fall under Uttar Pradesh.

The two parties have decided to not field any candidate from Amethi and Raebareli. Akhilesh Yadav’s party will fight from prominent seats like Kanpur, Pilibhit, Varanasi, Jhansi, Itawah, Ghaziabad, Sambhal, Allahabad and Mirzapur among others. The BSP will field its candidates from Meerut, Agra, Sant Kabir Nagar, Aligarh, Shahjahanpur, Pratapgarh, Ghazipur, Bhadohi, Jaunpur, Ghoshi among others.

Earlier on Thursday, Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav showed his displeasure over the alliance forged by his son and party president Akhilesh Singh Yadav with the Bahujan Samaj Party. Addressing party workers at the SP headquarters here, Mulayam Singh Yadav made clear that he was unhappy with Mayawati’s BSP being given “half” of the seats in the alliance for Uttar Pradesh ahead of the Lok Sabha polls.

The remarks come days after the SP patriarch created a stir in Parliament, saying he wished that Prime Minister Narendra Modi returns to power.
