2019 Mazda3 Hatchback Launched In The UK From £20,595

The all-new Mazda3 has been launched in the United Kingdom, where it will rival the likes of the Volkswagen Golf, Ford Focus, Renault Megane and other compact hatchbacks.

Available initially in a five-door body style, it will be joined by the Saloon later this year. Customers have a choice of five trim levels and two engines, a 122 PS (120 hp / 90 kW) 2.0-liter petrol and a 116 PS (114 hp / 85 kW) 1.8-liter diesel, with the new SkyActiv-X unit to arrive in the coming months.

The most affordable version is the SE-L equipped with the petrol engine and a six-speed manual gearbox. It retails from £20,595 ($26,881/€23,691), whereas the optional six-speed auto adds a £1,300 ($1,697/€1,495) premium. The top-of-the-line GT Sport Tech Auto is priced from £26,795 ($34,973/€30,823) with the petrol unit and £27,735 ($36,200/€31,905) with the diesel.

The base Mazda3 SE-L comes with LED headlights, head-up display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration and an 8-speaker audio system. From the entry-level model upwards, the hatchback adds keyless entry, ra eversing camera and heated front seats, whereas the Sport Lux brings additional chrome detailing, rear privacy glass and frameless rearview mirror.

If you want black leather seats with power adjustment, heated steering wheel and a Bose audio system, you’ll have to opt for the GT Sport. Finally, the GT Sport Tech features more active safety features, such as the 360-degree camera system and Driver Attention Alert.
