12-year-old raped by uncle

Representative imageGURUGRAM: A 12-year-old girl was raped allegedly by her uncle in Jharsa village on February 12. An FIR has been registered at the Sadar police station under sections 4 of POCSO Act and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC.
The girl’s family hails from West Bengal and has been living in Jharsa for five months. Her father works as a daily wager and mother as a maid. The accused, Purimal, is the husband of her maternal aunt and lived in the locality. The girl and her two siblings would visit his place to watch television.
On February 12, Purimal raped the girl in his house and threatened her with consequences if she told anyone about it. However, the girl told her mother and the family lodged a police complaint on Wednesday. Inspector Dalbir Singh, the SHO of Sadar police station said Purimal is on the run.
