Bhopal: Cooperatives minister Govind Singh, replying to a call-attention motion put by MLA Kamal Patel on Wednesday in the House said Economic and Offences Wing (EOW) should complete probe in Hoshangabad loan scam in three months and submit charge sheet.
Patel said the scam took place as the bank employees and officers were hand-in-gloves. Patel said farmers were made debtors without loan. Rs 2.77 crore were embezzled. Patel claimed that officers from Hoshangabad to Bhopal were involved in the scam. EOW had filed first information report (FIR) against 26 persons but the probe is still underway. Patel demanded that these 26 persons be sent to jail.
Singh said cooperatives movement was in the grip of corruption. Action would be taken against board of directors and officers of the Bank. If needed, re-probe could be done, added Singh.
