The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has decided to introduce Fly Bus services to Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) from Chikkamagaluru, Shivamogga, Davangere in Karnataka, and from Anantapura and Kadapa in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh.

An official of the KSRTC said, “The KSRTC had introduced the Fly Bus service from Mysuru in August 2013. Later, services were launched from Kundapura, Manipal and Madikeri. Now, 15 services are being operated from various places. Mysuru to KIA has nine services per day. Depending on demand, the corporation will operate buses from other points. Anantapura and Kadapa are located close to the airport. Every day, hundreds of passenger commute to the airport from these two destinations. The new services will definitely help them.”

However, the Fly Bus services from Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh and Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu have been withdrawn following poor response. “We had introduced services from Tirupati to the airport, and operated them for a couple of months but they were not picking up. It was the same for Coimbatore.”
