A Channel Seven television presenter was caught checking her phone during a live news broadcast this week.

Adelaide weekend host Jessica Adamson wasn't prepared after cameras turned to her and fellow anchor Bruce Abernethy after a cross segment.

She can be seen looking down at her phone while typing before suddenly noticing she's live on air.

Ms Adamson's eyes widen in surprise before she drops her phone and turns her attention to her co-host while trying to maintain her composure.

The slip-up didn't go unnoticed by viewers.

Instagram account S**tAdelaide posted a recording of the comical moment, which quickly garnered almost 70,000 views.

'It's like everyone everywhere all the time...' one social media user commented.

'Just checking the latest news...' another joked.

'Ah, no work place is exempt from personal phone usage,' one person said.

Ms Adamson came under fire for another mishap during a live news broadcast in 2017.

The Adelaide presenter was heard whispering 'f**k' in frustration a split second after reading the preview for an upcoming news segment.

'Ahead on 7 News, exclusive details on funding cuts that it's feared will cost lives, and the Big Ben cover-ups - why its famous bongs are about to fall silent,' Adamson said.

'F**k,' she continued, likely assuming her microphone was no longer live or would not pick up the explicit reaction.

The comical profanity went largely unnoticed by viewers, with only a few heading to social media to double check they had heard correctly.

'Jess Adamson did u say a swear word (before) the ad break about Big Ben lol??? [sic],' one user wrote on Twitter.
