Allying with AIADMK a shameless act, says Anbumani’s brother-in-law

Hours after the AIADMK struck a poll pact with the PMK, TNCC working president M.K. Vishnu Prasad on Tuesday ridiculed PMK founder S. Ramadoss for “shamelessly” joining hands with the AIADMK.

“It was former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa who put Mr. Ramadoss behind bars in Tiruchi Central Prison. He was treated shabbily in the jail. We all witnessed that. But he has now joined hands with the same AIADMK, losing his dignity and honour. It is a shameless act,” said Mr. Prasad, who is also the brother-in-law of PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss.

‘A betrayal’

Addressing a Congress workers’ meeting in Tiruchi, he said Jayalalithaa had also ordered the arrest of Vanniyar Sangam leader and former PMK MLA Kaduvetti J. Guru. It was because of his incarnation in jail that he fell ill and died subsequently, Mr Prasad claimed. “Forgetting all these, they have joined the AIADMK alliance by betraying the interest of PMK members and Vanniyars. The soul of Guru will never forgive them,” Mr. Prasad said. Vanniyars would be wary of the PMK when it knocks on their doors for votes and would teach the party a fitting lesson, he added.

Coming down heavily on Dr. Ramadoss and his son Dr. Anbumani, Mr. Prasad said both of them had time and again stated that only shameless people would strike an electoral deal with the DMK or the AIADMK.

“Dr. Ramadoss claims he had put forth 10 conditions to the AIADMK government. But he has not revealed the 11th demand. People are not fools. They know full well why he has settled for an alliance with the AIADMK. It is not an electoral understanding but a deal,” said Mr. Prasad, the son of former TNCC president M. Krishnasamy.
