A complaint was lodged with the Satellite police station on Tuesday by a nurse, alleging that her son's ex-fiance had attacked her while she was on her way to work.

The complaint was lodged by victim Usha Barot, a resident of Jivrajpark area who works as a nurse in the Thakarshy Charitable Trust hospital located in Satellite area.

She stated in her complaint that a month back, her son Jignesh Barot had gotten engaged to Pooja Barot, a resident of Vejalpur area. After their engagement, Usha's relatives told that Pooja has major behavioural issues following which she she asked her son to call off the marriage which was supposed to have been held in 2019. As a result, Jignesh broke off the engagement with Pooja.

According to Usha, after the incident took place, a dispute broke out between members of both families. During the dispute, Pooja, her father Sailesh Barot and mother Asha went to Usha's house and abused her and her family members.

On Tuesday evening, at around 6pm, when Usha was on her way to the hospital, Pooja followed her, stopped her and started abusing her. According to the complaint, during the incident, Pooja attacked Usha and even bit her hands. After people started to gather around the two, Pooja fled from the spot.

A complaint was lodged against three accused with the Satellite police station and further investigation in the matter is on. As per the police, right now, all three accused are absconding and the search for them is on.
