Tamil Nadu: Gang hacks man, 40, to death, cuts off his genitals

Picture used for representational purpose onlyVELLORE: An unidentified gang hacked a 40-year-old farmer to death and cut off his genitals at A K Mottur near Tirupattur on Tuesday night.
Some farm workers spotted the body near a village lake and informed the Tirupattur taluk police on Wednesday morning.
Police said Sivakumar who was married and had two daughters, was in an illegitimate relationship with Kuttiammal alias Murugeshwari, a 35-year-old widow from the same locality.
On Tuesday night, when Sivakumar was returning from Jolarpet railway station, the gang intercepted and threw chili powder on his face. The group then hacked him to death with sharp weapons.
"Sivakumar had sustained several cuts and his private part was also removed. A stone was dropped on his face to ensure his death," police said. Kuttiammal was also having an affair with Palani, 35, from the same area. Police have detained both. "We are probing on all possible angles," police said.A case under Section 302 of IPC has been registered.
The body was sent to Tirupattur Government Hospital for postmortem examination.
