Sri Lankan navy detains five Indian fishermen

TRICHY: The Sri Lankan navy on Wednesday arrested eight Indian fishermen for poaching in the territorial waters of the island nation.
Sri Lankan navy personnel on board a fast attack craft surrounded a fishing trawler off Karaitivu. They seized the trawler and detained five crew members.
The detained fishermen hailed from Jagadhapattinam in Pudukkottai district of Tamil Nadu who set sail on Wednesday morning.
The fishermen were taken to Sri Lanka for further action.
