The 20th Telugu Language Invitation Drama Competitions, to be conducted by Sahridaya Literary and Cultural Association, would be held from March 1 to 4.
The annual drama festival is being organised in collaboration with the Department of Language and Culture, Telangana, and Film, TV and Theatre Arts Development Corporation at Government Markazi High School in Hanamkonda here.
Sahridaya general secretary N.V.N. Chary said eight plays from Telugu-speaking States have been selected to be staged at the four-day event.
Warangal West MLA Dasyam Vinaya Bhaskar; Mamidi Harikrishna, Director of Department of Telangana Language and Culture; and A.E. Vishwaroop, SDM, LIC of India, would inaugurate the programme.
Mr. Chary said plays Nirjeeva Ninaadam by Sharvani Srikakulam and Megha Varnam by Kala Bharati, Arepalli, Warangal, would be staged on March 1. Panjaram by Kalanjali, Hyderabad, and Maa Premaku Nyaam Kaavaali by Chaitanya Bharati, Karimnagar, on March 2.
Reverse Gear by JRK theatres, Bapatla, and Talupulu Tericheunnaayi by Sri Sai Arts, Kolakaluru, on March 3 and on the final day, Aalito Saradaagaa by Amateur Dramatic Association, Chilakaluripeta, and Shubhalagnam by Mayuri Arts, Warangal, would be staged.
Deshapati Srinivas, OSD in Chief Minister’s office, and U. Subbaraya Sharma, a veteran theatre actor, would attend the event on the last day.
