SPPU invites application from PhD students for fellowship

PUNE: All PhD students, who took admission in Savitribai Phule Pune University in the academic year 2018-19, can now apply for Bharat Ratna JRD Tata Quality Research Fellowship. A total of 100 students from across the varsity will be get this fellowship if found eligible.
The fellowship amount of Rs 8000 will be given to qualified students for a maximum of three years. Interested students can apply online and along with the filled application, they would also need to submit an abstract of their proposed research. Depending upon the number of students who are applying for this scholarship, a proportional quota for each department would be set.
“The scholarship will be made available for one year only at first. After the year ends, the department officials will take a review of the work done and then decide whether to continue the scholarship for the student or not,” said officials from SPPU.
The students can apply on http://bcud.unipune.ac.in website and fill in the form. The students should then take a print out of the submitted application and along with a letter of recommendation from the research guide and head of the department, submit it to the Admission Department including these documents: marks statement of Master Degree, provisional / confirmation PhD admission letter, undertaking on plain paper and a brief proposal of research topic.
