President Trump Reacts to the Arrest of Actor Jussie Smollett

Actor Jussie Smollett has been arrested in Chicago and charged for filing a false report on his widely publicized attack on January 29th.????The Chicago police say the star from the show “Empire” paid two men $3,500 to stage an attack on him because he was unhappy with his salary.????Following the arrest, Chicago Police Chief Eddie Johnson said this...????(Johnson SOT)??“This announcement today recognizes that “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett took advantage of the pain and anger of racism to promote his career”????Smollett, who is openly gay, alleged that he was beaten by two men who hurled homophobic and racial slurs at him.

The actor also said the attackers yelled ‘this is MAGA country’ and also put noose around his neck.????The story initially saw an outpouring of support for Smollett and police were treating the case as a hate crime.????The Make America Great Again reference in the report of the attack caused President Trump to react to the news of Smollett’s arrest.????Asking the actor over Twitter “what about MAGA and the tens of millions of people you insulted with your racist and dangerous comments?”????Smollett has not made any statements since he turned himself in to Chicago authorities.????The actor faces a felony charge of disorderly conduct for allegedly filing a false report.
