GURUGRAM: A 14-year-old girl was kidnapped, held captive and raped by three men in Daultabad, police said on Wednesday. The teen was abducted by the trio when she had gone to buy milk Sunday evening.

She was held captive by the rapists for two days before being rescued by a police team on Tuesday. One of the suspects has been detained but no arrest has been made so far, according to cops.

The teenager is from West Bengal, and lives with her parents who are daily wagers in Jharsa. According to her parents, they started searching for the girl as she didn’t return after stepping out to buy milk on Sunday evening.

On Monday, they filed a missing person’s complaint, and based on that an FIR was registered under sections 363 (kidnapping) and 365 (kidnapping with an intent to wrongfully confine a person) IPC at Sadar police station.

Acting on an input that the girl has been held captive at a home in Daultabad, police launched a search operation and found her confined to a room. As cops entered the home, a 21-year-old rape suspect tried to run away but injured himself when he jumped off the roof in a bid to escape. He was detained from the spot.

The girl told police that the three men held her captive and raped her. “She recorded her statements in front of the magistrate under section 164 of CrPC on Wednesday. The suspect who has been held is admitted to Civil Hospital. We are yet to arrest him as he is medically unfit now. The FIR is yet to be updated for gangrape under the POCSO Act, and the charge is against three suspects. The girl has been counselled, and we hope to get more details from her,” said inspector Dalbir Singh, SHO at Sadar police station.
