The gold market was abuzz with chatter after the Mumbai Customs reportedly sealed the official premises of an old-time scrap gold buyer from Zaveri Bazaar and summoned him in connection with the recent arrest of two Sri Lankan women for allegedly smuggling in 11 kgs of gold through a minor at Mumbai airport. The said trader was to appear before the customs authorities Wednesday. His business was buying of old gold jewellery, refining it into bars and selling the same.
