VARANASI: Union textile minister Smriti Irani described Congress leader and Punjab minister Navjot Singh Sidhu as 'Jaichand’ (who betrayed Prithviraj Chauhan in war against Mohd Gori) of modern India for defending Pakistan and its Prime Minister Imran Khan following Pulwama terror attack and said that countrymen will show mirror to such Jaichands.

She mocked Pak PM for releasing a video with 23 cuts after Indian Army cleared its strategy to tackle insurgents. She also targeted Congress president and Amethi MP Rahul Gandhi by taunting that a MP should learn from PM Narendra Modi how his parliamentary constituency should be served.

Talking to reporters at BJP office at Gulab Bagh here on Wednesday Irani said, “Those (Sidhu) who term Pak PM as their friend and claim Pak had no role in Pulwama attack are modern India’s Jaichand, who would be taught by people that what emotions they carried after this attack. Being an Indian I think that each Pakistani with ill intentions should be taught proper lesson.” Regarding cricket relations with Pak, she said that at a time when country unanimously wants justice for families of martyrs, there is no relevance of question of playing with Pakistan, although ministry of sports of government of India will take any decision in this regard.

Mocking at Pak PM, she said, “After PM gave free hand to Army to tackle insurgents and Indian Army also cleared that whoever would not surrender will be neutralised, Pak PM released a video. By going through this video, it became clear that a PM of such a country, which follows the policy of thousand cuts against India, has released a video with 23 cuts. It cleared his mental state that how difficult it was for him to speak. Before asking for evidence in Pulwama attack, he should answer what his country did after getting evidences in 26/11 Mumbai terror attack episode.”
