Bhopal: Industry seeks Telangana, Andra-like facilities in state

Bhopal: Chief Minister, who invited industrialists here for a round-table meet, said that he had called the business heads to know the how critically they review the present scenario of the industry and the government policies in the state. “I had called the industrialists of the state to criticise the government,” said Nath later while interacting with media here on Tuesday.

Earlier, Nath held a round-table meeting with 61 industrialists and head honchos of business groups here to understand the industry’s needs and attract investment. Nath informed that the industrialists praised the policies of Andhra Pradesh and Telengana governments and demanded that the Congress government here too provide sops and business environment like the other two states.

“I did not find any single window system in the state, nor the industrialists as claimed by the earlier government,” said the Chief Minister. Industrialists are facing many problems and are running pillar to post to get their issues resolved, but they were pushed back by the government machinery, said Nath. “What do industrialists want, they only seek little support from the government and nothing more,” he added.

“A single policy will not solve the problem of every industrialists, it’s time to prepare the sector- wise policy to bring the investment in the state and also to give a boost to existing industries.” “We are going to draft industrial policies sector-wise. Every sector has its own concerns which will be addressed in the policies,” Nath added. A confectionery industry cluster would be set up soon as demanded by the industry representatives, he said.

“Six or seven experienced middle-level officers will be deputed to solve industrialists’ problems and facilitate investment. They will be known as Hand Holders and will report directly to me on every weekly basis, ” the chief minister said. Sating that the government was committed for the development of the state and ensure job to youths, Nath said that industries generating maximum employment will get maximum facilities. Stressing on employment-generating industrial units like food processing, tourism, textile and IT, Nath said the government is planning to bring more such companies to the state.
