FALL RIVER — Atlantis Charter School recently received a $5,000 grant from the Bristol County Savings Charitable Foundation to support its high school Arts, Culture and Design Academy. The money will go toward the purchase of new Apple laptops for graphic arts and music production.
Robert Beatty, executive director of Atlantis Charter School, and George Jacome, development director of the Atlantis Educational Foundation, attended the check presentation ceremony on Jan. 11, at White's of Westport.
The Atlantis Educational Foundation is one of 43 nonprofit organizations in the Southcoast, Taunton-Attleboro, and Rhode Island areas to receive grants totaling $344,300. The Bristol County Savings Charitable Foundation has awarded close to $20 million to hundreds of non-profit organizations since it was established in 1996. Last year, the Atlantis Educational Foundation received a $7,500 grant to fund the purchase of new technology for the school's Arts, Culture and Design Academy.
