Share market update: Auto shares in the green; Motherson Sumi rises 2%

NEW DELHI: Most auto shares were trading in the green in Wednesday's morning session.

Shares of Motherson Sumi Systems (up 2.17 per cent) , Apollo Tyres (up 2.10 per cent) , Ashok Leyland (up 1.83 per cent) and Tata Motors (up 1.34 per cent) were the top performers in the index.

Tata Motors (DVR) (up 1.06 per cent) , Bharat Forge (up 0.74 per cent) , Bosch (up 0.66 per cent) and Maruti Suzuki India (up 0.57 per cent) too were grading higher.

The Nifty Auto index was trading 0.18 per cent up at 8088.05 around 10:22 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 69.75 points at 10,674.10 while the BSE Sensex was up 227.26 points at 35,579.87.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 38 were trading in the green, while 12 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, SAIL, Vodafone Idea, Ashok Leyland, BEL, Vedanta, Tata Steel, ONGC, SBI, Tata Motors, Bank of Baroda, Indiabulls Housing Finance, JSW Steel, ICICI Bank, DLF and LIC Housing Finance were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
