The Corporation will float tenders for five bridges in various parts of the city next week. The tender for construction of a skywalk in T.Nagar will also be floated next week.

The projects are estimated at ₹250 crore.

The civic body will develop a bridge at the level crossing of Kolathur-Villivakkam.

“The project has been delayed for many years. The railway gate was closed two years ago for the project. So, residents have been crossing the tracks frequently, leading to accidents,” said former Corporation councillor Deva Jawahar.

The Corporation will also construct a bridge across Puzhal surplus water canal at Vadaperumbakkam in ward 11 at an estimate of ₹17 crore. Another bridge across Puzhal Surplus water canal at Amullavoyal in ward no. 18 will also be constructed at an estimate of ₹14 crore.

The bridge on Burma Nagar Main Road in ward 16 will be constructed across the same canal at an estimated cost of ₹11 crore.

The bridge at Teynampet junction will be constructed at an estimate of ₹98 crore.
