Red Devils need top 4 and big money to secure Sancho

Cape Town - Manchester United have set their sights on Jadon Sancho but will need Champions League football and £100 million to strike a deal.

The 18-year-old continues to earn rave reviews for Borussia Dortmund after joining them from Manchester City, and the Bundesliga side face a battle to retain his services.

Liverpool are expected to make a move in the summer after Jurgen Klopp revealed his admiration of the player.

"With the English players, it is a smart idea because we would never have a chance to get Sancho," said Klopp.

"We are not blind - we saw him, we liked him and then we think 'can we get him?' No. Because English clubs don't sell them to other English clubs.

"I don't know exactly what the reason is for that but they don't do it. Now they can go to Germany, which is a wonderful league."

Sancho is under contract with the German giants until 2022 and Dortmund will demand at least £100 million before they even consider letting him go.

It remains to be seen if United would go that high after recently baulking at the £100 million price tag that Wolves slapped on the head of Ruben Neves.

Sancho could be a different kettle of fish, however, and United may be willing to push the boat out for a player who is one of the top prospects in world football.

It has also been suggested that United would need to playing Champions League football to lure him away, which should not be a problem if they continue as they are.
