Drug addict killed married woman, hid body in bed: Police

Picture used for representational purpose onlyFEROZEPUR: With the arrest of a close relative of the deceased, the Ferozepur police on Tuesday, claimed to have solved the blind murder case of a married woman Pooja. She was found murdered in her house in Basti Tankan Wali on Novermber 27, 2018.
Ferozepur SP (investigations) Baljit Singh said the accused had been identified as Ajay Patial, a close relative of Pooja’s husband’s family, who is a drug addict and during interrogation he confessed the crime. “On November 27, 2018, Patial had come to the house of Pooja with intention of theft but she saw him following which he murdered her by strangling her. He then stuffed the dead body into a bed.
A case under ection 302 of IPC was registered at Ferozepur Cantonment police station against unidentified persons. Police said as the death of the victim had taken place under suspicious circumstances, inquest proceedings were initiated to ascertain the cause of death. During the investigation, the involvement of Patial came to surface as stolen gold rings were recovered from him. He will be produced in the court to get his police remand.
