Industrialist and Reliance Communication Chairman Anil Ambani, on Wednesday, was held guilty of contempt by the Supreme Court in a case filed by telecom equipment maker Ericsson. 

Anil Ambani and two directors were held guilty of contempt by the SC. 

The complainant accused Reliance Group chairman Anil Ambani and others of not clearing its dues.

The apex court has now directed Ambani to pay the dues of Rs 550 crore in four weeks failing which he will be sentenced to three-month jail term.

Earlier, on February 13, a bench of Justices RF Nariman and Vineet Saran had reserved its judgment when Ericsson India had alleged that the Reliance Group has money to invest in the Rafale jet deal but they were unable to clear its Rs 550-crore dues. 

The Anil Ambani-led company had denied the charge.
