MARGAO: Recruitment carried out by the state government’s directorate of health services (DHS) for the post of a laboratory assistant at Hospicio last month has come under a cloud after it was revealed that the candidate selected for the post had not allegedly appeared for the written examination.
Information obtained through the Right to Information Act shows that the candidate was already working in the Hospicio on contract basis as a laboratory technician.
The written examination for the post was held on on January 15. Documents obtained under RTI have revealed that the candidate in question had attended to her duties in the Hospicio the day the written exams were held.
It has also come to light that the muster roll was later tampered with by overwriting “EL” to indicate that the candidate was on Earned Leave that day.
Till late Wednesday, health minister Vishwajit Rane had not responded to TOI’s phone call and message.
Medical superintendent of Hospicio Ira Almeida declined to comment.
