After a presidential run as an underdog in 2016 that took everyone by surprise, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders has officially entered the 2020 race.

????Sanders joins a full field of Democratic hopefuls but in most polls taken before his announcement already had him as an early favorite along with former Vice President Joe Biden.????In an interview with Vermont Public Radio, Sanders said “We began the political revolution in the 2016 campaign and now it’s time to move that revolution forward”????While Sanders ultimately lost the 2016 nomination to Hillary Clinton, the grassroots style campaign was impressive and provided a serious challenge to Clinton.????Age may be another talking point in Sanders’ campaign, as the 77-year old will be the oldest candidate in the field, even if Biden decides to enter the race.

????Sanders is also 5 years older than potential rival President Trump.
