The women entered the Peaches and Cream store in the town of Petone on Sunday before making off with the toys.

Two sex toys worth over $300 each were stolen as well as a Hustler brand rabbit vibrator worth over $250 and a leopard print dress worth $95, Newshub reported.

The staff member who caught the pair said they looked suspicious from the outset.

Noticing their bags looking bigger as they went to exit, the staff member gave the women an opportunity to return the items.

While one of them returned an item, the other refused.

Peaches and Cream CEO said: 'They steal lube, they steal vibrators, they steal lingerie, they steal DVDs.'

The Peaches and Cream team have taken to Facebook to share CCTV footage of the two women and warn other retailers.

Members of the community, who recognise the two women, have commented on the theft online.

'Police have been around her house multiple times but she's never home,' one person commented on Facebook.

'Probably hiding in the bedroom with her collection of buttplugs,' came the reply.

Police have completed 'initial forensic analysis' and have written a report.
