Special buses for temple festivals
TNN | Updated: Feb 19, 2019, 23:39 ISTCoimbatore: The Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) has introduced special buses to the Aranganadhagaswami Temple at Karamadai and Masaniamman Temple at Mettupalayam from Tuesday to Thursday on occasion of temple festivals.
Thirty-two buses will leave from the Gandhipuram bus stand, 19 from Mettupalayam, three from Sirumugai or Viscose, seven from Annur, five from Somanur, five from Velliangadu and five from Tholampalayam to to the Karamadai temple.
There will be 10 buses from Ukkadam, 11 from Pollachi, 12 from Madurai, eight from Dindigul and four from Tirupur to the Mettupalayam temple.
“Lakhs of pilgrims from across the state travel to the two temples every year. These buses would make it more convenient for pilgrims to get off right at the temples,” a TNSTC spokesperson said. TNN
