Defence Exhibition Organisation, Ministry of Defence and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) will be hosting Aero India 2019 at Yelahanka Air Force station, Bengaluru from Wednesday. The event will conclude on Sunday (February 24, 2019). The show will display of Indian-made helicopters, fighter jets, drones and more. The Aero India 2019 will also conduct the first ever Drone Olympics for start-ups and young adults.

The All Indian Kisan Sabha (AIKS) and the farmers front of CPI(M), have again decided to protest against the agriculture policies and unfulfilled promises made by the Centre and Maharashtra government. A march will be organised from Nashik to Mumbai on February 20. Last year, the State government had assured that 64 lakh pending farm-loan waiver applications will be handed to a State government Committee for further scrutiny. Till date, the committee has not been formed.

The Goods and Services Tax (GST) Council will meet on Wednesday. The council is likely to lower the rates of under-construction properties. A Group of States’ Finance Ministers (GoFMs) has favoured lowering GST rates on residential houses to 5 per cent without input tax credit and to 3 per cent for those under affordable housing. 

India is expected to raise the issue of Pakistan’s support to terror groups during delegation-level talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Saudi Crown Prince on Wednesday. The Prince arrived in India on Tuesday evening. Both sides are expected to sign five agreements in areas of investment, tourism, housing and information and broadcasting during the Saudi leader’s visit. The Crown Prince will be accompanied by a high-level official team as well as a large business delegation. 

India will make its closing submissions in the Kulbhushan Jadhav case on Wednesday at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), The Hague. Jadhav, a former naval officer, was sentenced to death by Pakistan on the charges of espionage and terrorism in April 2017.
