Man booked for sexually harassing three-year-old

Representative imagePUNE: A 40-year-old employee of a restaurant in Thergaon was booked on Sunday for sexually harassing a three-year-old girl.
The incident occurred at an open plot near the restaurant on Sunday evening.
The suspect has been booked under Section 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the Indian Penal Code and the relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The girl’s relative lodged a complaint with the police.
An officer from the Wakad police told TOI that the girl’s family stays near the restaurant. On Sunday around 4pm the girl was playing near the restaurant. The suspect took her to the back-side and sexually harassed her. “The child’s relative noticed him and raised an alarm,” he said. The police are yet to arrest the suspect.
