The hospitality group, Tullymore House Ltd, which owns the Galgorm Spa and Golf Resort, has obtained the Templeton Hotel in Co Antrim.
The managing director of the group, Colin Johnston, considers that its new multi-million-pound deal will support the growing tourism industry of Northern Ireland.
“The Galgorm Collection are an extensive investor in Northern Ireland and our latest exciting venture in Templepatrick will bring our current employee count to just short of 1,000 people,” he said.
The Galgorm Resort, which spreads across 163-acres of estate, was developed by Paul and Nicholas Hill, two brothers from Ballymena, almost 30 years ago.
The two, who are the prime shareholders in Tullymore House Ltd, have invested over £30 million in developing the destination resort in Ballymena, which won global spa of the year at the World Luxury Hotel Awards two years back.
Also, the brothers have gone into restaurant business and presently own two Italian restaurants in Belfast, where they will soon be developing a hotel.
Recent accounts shows Tullymore House Ltd reported a turnover of over £22 million and pre-tax profits of more than £7 million in 2017.
Now, the group is all geared up to redevelop the 24-bedroom Templeton hotel which had been controlled by the McCombe family since 1990. It also intends to create an additional 50 jobs.
