Investments in nine industrial clusters announced in the previous budget is expected to keep the State on the global map in terms of manufacturing competitiveness, and generate one lakh employment in each of the nine cluster/ districts, Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy said here on Monday.
Launching a toy cluster in Koppal district and textile cluster in Ballari district, the CM: “The last few months have given us an opportunity to demonstrate certain amount of decisiveness in terms of undertaking corrective steps to bring in economic reforms in the State. The government understands the importance of industrial growth and intends to correct the anomaly by ushering sustainable growth with a focus on job creation, especially women empowerment.”
The coalition government, he said, is focussed on a pro-business approach and will ensure benefits reach the poor. In order to make the State a global economic and industrial giant, Mr. Kumaraswamy said that plans are afoot to develop 7,940 km of roads to provide world-class connectivity; providing quality skill infrastructure in all districts; and continuing to promote startups.
He also indicated the initiative to provide industrial infrastructure through ₹40 crore grant to KIADB to lay a pipeline under K.C. Valley project.
