PATNA: Teachers and non-teaching staff of universities and colleges of the state will get revised pay scales with effect from January 2016. This was decided at a special cabinet meeting held on Monday.
The cabinet accepted the report submitted by the three-member committee of the state government regarding implementation of revised pay scales to teachers and non-teaching staff of universities and colleges. However, according to sources, no decision on payment of revised pension to retired teachers and non-teaching staff was taken at the meeting.
Sources said that the serving teachers and staff would start getting revised pay from the next financial year and the arrears of revised pay would accrue from April 2017 and would be paid in instalments. It is expected that there would be an increase of almost 15% in the salary of university staff following the pay revision.
