Ujjain: The District Congress Committee (DCC, rural) executive committee was announced on Monday. Only 14 women members across the district found place in the 431-members executive body. Interestingly, a number of workers from Ujjain managed to get posts.
DCC president Kamal Patel, who was appointed on the post some seven months ago, at a press conference at Rajiv Bhavan, Ksheer Sagar told media persons that though the PCC okayed the list on November 17, he is announcing it now so that party workers can be motivated for the Lok Sabha polls. According to him, workers of Ujjain city are included in the list as their work during the Assembly elections was found laudable.
According to Patel, 61 persons including one woman have been made vice-president. Likewise, 112 persons including 5 women were made general secretary. At least 78 persons including 4 women were made organising secretary and 153 persons including three women were made secretary. At least 52 leaders including one woman were made special invitees whereas 4 persons were made spokespersons. During the press conference none of the newly-appointed functionary was present.
