“The Sony Xperia XZ4 is speculated to come with the widest display featuring a 21:9 aspect ratio”
The coveted tech expo, MWC 2019 is less than a week away and anticipation is high as expected. Sony has already announced that it will be organising an event on February 25th, where the brand is expected to launch several smartphones including its flagship Xperia XZ4. Ahead of the event, the company has taken to Twitter to post a cryptic video announcing the upcoming event
The tweet from the brand read, “Embrace a new perspective with #Xperia at #SonyMWC.” The tweet also reveals that the event will kickstart at 8:45am CET, which is 1:15pm Indian time. While the tweet doesn’t particularly hint at anything specific, rumours are suggesting this is a nod to the upcoming flagship from the brand – Xperia XZ4. Moreover, the background illustration in the video is uncannily similar to the wallpaper we have recently seen in the leaked renders of Xperia L3, Xperia XA3 or 10 and Xperia 10 Plus or XA3 Plus. Therefore, Sony might have hinted towards the launch of several smartphones at the upcoming event, in the latest video.
As for the Xperia XZ4, the flagship is speculated to flaunt a 6.4-inch QHD+ OLED screen along with a tall aspect ratio of 21:9. The handset will have the latest and greatest Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 chipset ticking at its core, accompanied by 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage. The rumours suggest that the smartphone will feature a triple rear camera module with the primary sensor being a 52-megapixel (f/1.6) unit accompanied by a 16-megapixel f/2.6 telephoto lens and a 0.3-megapixel f/1.4 ToF camera. The flagship is likely to boot Android 9 Pie out of the box and will be powered by a 4,000mAh battery. The IP68 certified flagship will be offered in Blue, Black, Silver, and Purple hues.
As of now, there is no word on the pricing and the availability of the phone. 91mobiles will be present on the floor at MWC 2019 to bring you all the latest update, so stay tuned.
