Two people were killed in an accident between two cars near Kunigal town in Tumkur district of Karnataka last night (February 18). In one of the cars, Bharatiya Janata Party Karnataka general secretary CT Ravi was traveling.

The deceased were returning from Kollur Temple. Four others, including CT Ravi, were also injured in the accident.

CT Ravi, an MLA from Chikmagalur, was sitting on the back seat. He has sustained minor injuries on the chest in the accident. CT Ravi was later discharged from the hospital.

Karnataka BJP media convener S Shantharaman said, "CT Ravi was present at the accident spot till the bodies were taken care of and the injured shifted to a hospital. He left the place only after the police permitted him and the car was taken for further investigation."

S Shantharaman said that CT Ravi was not driving the car, neither does he have any drinking problems.

A case in the matter has been registered at Kunigal Police Station under Sections 279, 336 and 304A of IPC.
