Ferrari 488 Pista Shows Who’s The Boss On Track Against GT3 RS, 600LT

Pitting the Ferrari 488 Pista against cars like the Porsche 911 GT3 RS and the McLaren 600LT may seem unfair at first but the comparison gives us a good idea of how fast the latest Ferrari and McLaren are against an established track warrior like the Porsche 911 GT3 RS.

The Ferrari 488 Pista is one of the fastest and most capable cars available today in the market; it embodies all the latest technologies Ferrari has to offer in order to make it stunningly quick around a track.

With power coming from essentially the 488 Challenge race car’s engine, Ferrari’s latest thoroughbred offers 711hp (720PS) and 568 lb-ft (770Nm) of peak torque. Official performance numbers are pretty serious, with the 0-62mph (100km/h) coming in 2.85 seconds, 0-124mph (200km/h) in 7.6 seconds and a top speed of over 211mph (340km/h).

In comparison, the McLaren 600LT comes with over 100hp less, at 592hp (600PS) and 457lb-ft (620Nm) of torque. 0-62mph (100km/h) comes in 2.9 seconds, with 0-124mph (200km/h) coming in 8.2 seconds. Top speed is 204mph (328km/h).

The least powerful car out of the three is of course the Porsche 911 GT3 RS, featuring a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine with an epic soundtrack, 512hp (520PS) and 346lb-ft (468Nm). 0-62mph (100km/h) is dealt in 3.2 seconds while 0-124mph (200km/h) is a matter of 10.6 seconds. Top speed is 193mph (312km/h).

Autocar brings all three to the beautiful Anglesey circuit for an all-out comparison that includes a 0-100mph-0 test as well. It’s no wonder that the Ferrari won but the differences between them might surprise you.
