BENGALURU: A 26-year-old man who allegedly tried to sexually harass a 15-year-old girl was caught by the locals and handed over to police at PC Nagar, Laggere, northwest Bengaluru, on Monday morning.
Rajagopalanagar police said Naveen, a resident of PC Nagar and employee of a factory in Peenya area, was stalking the girl for several months. He also promised the girl a mobile phone if she obliged to his demands.
He came near the girl’s residence on Monday morning and demanded sexual favours from her. But the girl’s mother caught him red-handed and had heated arguments with him. He passed lewd comments against the girl’s mother too. Locals gathered at the spot and thrashed Naveen before handing him over to police.
“The parents of girl are not ready to file a complaint against the suspect. We are convincing them to file a complaint to teach the suspect a lesson. We will register case against Naveen soon after we get a complaint from the girl or her parents,” said a police officer.
