Delay in Cabinet formation faulted

Bharatiya Janata Party national secretary R.P. Singh on Monday questioned the two-month delay in formation of the Cabinet by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and said it gave a glimpse of kind of government being run here in Telangana.

“It has been more than two months that elections have been held. People have given a good mandate to the TRS government but there has been only one Minister, apart from the Chief Minister. If this is how the state of affairs are here, imagine what will happen if the Third Front being floated by Mr. Rao comes to power at the Centre,” he said.

At a press conference held at the State party office and flanked by leaders Bandaru Dattatreya, M. S. Ramchander Rao and others, he appealed to people to think whether they want a strong and stable government at the Centre which will have the national interest on top or a conglomeration of parties with 10 MPs each where there could be different Prime Ministers every other week.

“Please think of scenario where a Central Cabinet is not in place but decisions have to be taken up quickly as things keep happening every minute. What kind of government will that be where partners will be squabbling among themselves,” he wondered.

Strongly pitching for a second term to the government led by Narendra Modi, Mr. Singh said the country needs a strong government to take decisive steps for keeping it safe and secure.

State benefitted

“The NDA government did many good things which were unthinkable earlier like -- bank accounts for the poor, Mudra loans to the small scale sector, health insurance up to ₹ 5 lakh ... it took care of all sections of the society like farmers and youth,” he said..

Telangana too benefited a lot by getting new highways, AIIMS and quick clearances from the Centre, he added. Mr. Dattatreya chipped into claim that Pattadar passbooks are yet to be distributed to 5 lakh farmers.
